New single from Carrie Underwood dropping Jan. 12
Carrie Underwood teased new music during an NFL commercial that aired during the playoff game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Jan. 7, but now there’s confirmation of a brand new single heading to country radio.
On Monday, Underwood turned to social media to post the song title — “Invincible” — writing ”#TheChampion coming January 12.” Underwood is reportedly working on a new album, her first since signing with Universal Music Group Nashville. Her last single, “Dirty Laundry,” was released in 2016.
ON THE MEND: Loretta Lynn is on the mend after breaking her hip last week. Her sister, Crystal Gayle, turned to social media Monday morning to ask for prayers. Gayle wrote that her birthday wish — she turned 67 Tuesday — was “for everyone to send love and prayers to my sister, Loretta ... I was with yesterday. She is in good spirits and is doing as well as can be expected with this type of injury ...” Lynn, 85, suffered a stroke last May but had recovered enough induct her friend, Alan Jackson, into the Country Music Hall of Fame in October.
NEW SINGLE: LANCO has released its new single, “Born To Love You,” to country radio this week. Co-written by lead singer Brandon Lancaster, Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley and Josh Osborne, the track is the next taste of new music off the band’s debut release, :Hallelujah Nights,” which will be available Jan. 19. LANCO kicks off its first run of 2018 tonight in Indianapolis on Chris Young’s Losing Sleep tour.
‘TEQUILA’: Dan + Shay’s new single, called “Tequila,” was released Wednesday to radio and all streaming partners. It was co-written by Dan Smyers. Dan + Shay are currently in the studio working on their upcoming project, due later this year.
SPEAKING: Country Radio Seminar’s 2018 Artist Humanitarian of the Year, Dierks Bentley, will be the featured speaker during the convention Feb. 5 in Nashville. The conversation, titled “Climbing The Mountain,” will spotlight Bentley’s rise to superstardom built by following his own path. He will receive the CRS 2018 Artist Humanitarian Award prior to his speaking engagement.
