BB Gun Confiscated from Robinson School Student
LOWELL -- A middle school student brought a BB gun to the Robinson School on Wednesday, according to a letter sent out to parents and guardians.
No students were injured and the gun was not functional, reads the letter from Principal Kevin McLaughlin.
The administration investigated the incident with Lowell Police, and “appropriate action” was taken, the principal wrote.
“I applaud the actions of the adult and students who reported this information to the school and the police,” McLaughlin said in a statement. “The safety of our students is our first priority.
“Please continue to remind your children to report any suspicious activity to school personnel and/or another adult,” he added. “Also, review the Student Handbook with your children and remind them of the importance of making safe choices.”
The principal, superintendent and Lowell Police could not be immediately reached for comment.
