Although spring begins in March, the warm weather generally doesn’t show its face until April.

Indoor water parks
Aquatopia Indoor Water Park at Camelback
Aquatopia is equipped with 13 water slides, ranging from tube slides, body slides, mat slides, bowl slides and an aqua launch capsule slide, as well as several kids rides for the younger thrill seekers. Additional ammenities include a swim-up bar and indoor cabana rentals.

Great Wolf Lodge
Great Wolf Lodge’s indoor water park features several varitiest of water slides, a wave pool, lazy river, children’s activity pools and hot springs to relax in.

Tickets: The lodge does not offer day passes, but entry to the water park is included with overnight packages.
This 53,000 square-foot waterpark offers attractions such as four-story slides, hot tubs, a wave pool and a flow rider surf machine.

Kalahari Resorts and Conventions
America’s largest indoor waterpark, clocking in at 220,000 square feet of water, features dozens of slides, a flow rider, children’s activity pools, swim-up bars and private bungalows and cabanas. In addition to the water park, the resort offers an arcade, virtual reality experiences, escape rooms, bowling, mini golf, 7-D motion theater, a spa and several dining options.

Factory tours and experiences
This colorful, family-friendly experience includes 28 hands-on attractions, ranging from creating your own coloring page, naming and wrapping your own crayon, adventuring into a 4-D coloring adventure and learning how crayons are made.

Distance from Wilkes-Barre: 75 miles
Visit the site of America’s oldest brewery, discover the hand-dug fermentation caves that were used for storage before refridgeration and enjoy a taste of the traditional lager. A valid ID will be required for those who would like to sample the beer following the tour. Tours are only available Monday to Friday until April, when they open Saturdays as well.

Susquehanna Brewing Company
The locally-owned and operated brewery offers free tours on Saturdays at 2 and 4 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Witness the production facility, learn about the company’s six-generation history in the beer business and sample the current lineup of beers in the new tasting room after the tour.

LEGOLAND features an interactive LEGO-themed ride, a LEGO 4D cinema and 10 LEGO-themed play areas. All adults must be accompanied by at least one child to visit the attraction.

Turkey Hill Experience
Visit Lancaster County and learn how the famous Turkey Hill ice cream is made, sit in a milk truck, milk the mechanical cows and learn about the people and culture of Turkey Hill dairy. This indoor trampoline park includes dozens of individual trampolines, two ultimate dodgeball courts, Skyslam basketball dunking and the foam zone for flips and twists. Friday nights feature Glow Zone, for jumpers ages 8 and older.

Wilkes-Barre’s very own climbing gym offers day passes, rentals, memberships, classes and bouldering.

Feel the need for speed at this indoor go-karting track. Every second and fourth Friday of March are “Ride All Night” specials, for $40. Participants must purchase an S&S License for $5, which never expires.
