Invest in the Community During Inaugural WyoBraska GIVES

November 2, 2018 GMT

SCOTTSBLUFF – Every Nebraskan uses a nonprofit every day. Nonprofits and their volunteers strengthen communities by providing services and programs to everyone, from the most vulnerable to the most resource-secure. The Scottsbluff community is dedicating a day, WyoBraska GIVES, to give back to nonprofits.

Several Nebraska communities have Giving Days each year, including WyoBraska GIVES on Tuesday, November 13. WyoBraska GIVES is hosted by the Oregon Trail Community Foundation. This is the first year for WyoBraska GIVES.

Giving Days have become popular forms of fundraising. The Nonprofit Association of the Midlands (NAM), a state association that represents more than 500 nonprofit organizations in Nebraska and southwest Iowa, encourages charitable giving through annual Giving Days.

“We invite citizens to support the Oregon Trail Community Foundation and all of the nonprofits it supports by making an online donation during WyoBraska GIVES,” said Kelly Koepsell, Member Services Director for NAM. “Nonprofit organizations work tirelessly year-round to help their communities through education, outreach and action. Giving Days are a huge opportunity to help make an impact.”

In the past year, more than $15 million has been donated during charitable Giving Days across Nebraska and southwest Iowa.
