Trump to hold MAGA rally in Pa. next week
President Trump will hold a campaign rally next week in Pennsylvania, a state critical to his reelection hopes.
Mr. Trump will gather with supporters on Monday in Montoursville, Pennsylvania, a town located west of Scranton and roughly 90 miles north of Harrisburg.
Barack Obama won the Keystone State in 2008 and 2012 en route to presidential victories, yet Mr. Trump won the Keystone State over Hillary Clinton in 2016 in part by promising to bring back jobs in critical sectors, such as steel, coal and manufacturing.
“President Trump will be returning to Pennsylvania to share his long litany of achievements on behalf of the American people,” said Michael Glassner, chief operating off of Mr. Trump’s 2020 campaign. “Because of President Trump, the economy is booming, paychecks are rising, and manufacturing is finally returning to the United States.”
Pennsylvania is one of six “tier 1” states that America First Action PAC, an outside group that supports Mr. Trump, identified as critical to the president’s reelection chances due to its wealth of votes in the Electoral College.
Mr. Trump plans to promote State Rep. Fred Keller, the Republican vying with Democrat Marc Friedenberg to replace former Rep. Tom Marino in the 12th congressional district.
The special election will be held the day after the rally.
