Prep Football: Glide falls to Harrisburg, 22-15

October 28, 2017 GMT

GLIDE — The Wildcats lost 22-15 to Harrisburg in Friday’s game for third place in the Mountain Valley Conference.

With the win the Eagles (4-5, 3-2) are headed to the Class 3A playoffs. The team won the state title in 2016.

Glide (5-4, 2-3) struggled throughout the game with turnovers and were unable to rush past Harrisburg.

“It was a good fought game but there were way too many turnovers and you can’t do that and win a championship game,” Glide coach Jody Doty said.

Cyller Cunningham rushed the ball for 137 yards on 22 carries and Zach Holland carried the ball eight times for 78 yards.

“We’re proud of these boys,” Doty said. “We are in a league where were dramatically outsized, but we feel like we did a good job battling. We had a good season.”
