Jerry Nelson, 70, Beaver Dam

Jerry L. Nelson, 70, of Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at his home.

There will be military honors provided by the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at 4 p.m. The memorial gathering will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. The memorial service will be 7 p.m. with Rev. Sandra Schieble officiating.

Jerry Lee Nelson was born on Nov. 25, 1948, to Wallace and Jean (Paulson) Nelson in Arlington, South Dakota. He was a graduate of Arlington High School and a proud Vietnam veteran. Jerry is well-known as the owner/operator of Jerry’s Tap and Tubby’s.

Jerry will be missed by his mother, Jean Nelson of Beaver Dam; children, Jeff (Kimberly) Nelson of Falling Waters, West Virginia, and Robby Nelson of Beaver Dam; cherished grandchildren, Jami, Josh, Abagail, and Mitchell Nelson, and Brayden Nelson; brothers, Don (Heidi) Nelson, Rodney (Vicky) Nelson, and Rick Nelson (Hanna Mueller), all of Beaver Dam; brother-in-law, Larry (Crystal) Wiersma of Beaver Dam; sister-in-law, June Nelson of Beaver Dam; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and siblings Janis Wiersma and Jim Nelson.

Papa Tubby’s grandchildren were his pride and joy! Maintaining strong friendships near and far was very important to Jerry. We fondly remember him saying, “Glad you got to see me!”

Memorials may be made in Jerry Nelson’s name to Badger Honor Flight.
