Man hurt in shooting at Cleveland Heights barbershop

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- One man was hurt Thursday in a shooting at a Cleveland Heights barbershop, police said.

The shooting happened about 10 a.m. at a strip mall on Noble Road near Monticello Boulevard, police said.

Cleveland Heights police officers at the scene did not provide an update on the man’s condition.

Officers did not say if any arrests have been made in the shooting. They directed questions to Cleveland Heights police Chief Annette Mecklenburg, who did not immediately respond to a request for more information.

Witnesses at the scene said the shooting happened inside Excel’s Shop of Excellence Barbershop. Several men standing outside the barbershop denied any knowledge of the incident.

Investigators are working to gather surveillance video from nearby businesses, police said.
