Crash kills ‘Tammy from Clanton’ and her granddaughter
CLANTON, Ala. (AP) — A traffic crash in Alabama has killed a 3-year-old girl and her grandmother — a woman known as a regular caller on a national sports talk show.
Tammy Renae Bullard was known to Paul Finebaum Show listeners as the avid Auburn fan, Tammy from Clanton.
Al.com reports that the 52-year-old Bullard and her granddaughter died Friday morning on U.S. Highway 280.
State Trooper Cpl. Jimmy Harrell said a commercial vehicle carrying explosive material veered into oncoming traffic, possibly due to a blown tire. It collided with an SUV carrying the woman and child. The truck driver was flown to a trauma center.
News of Bullard’s death spread quickly on social media. “Prayers for Tammy from Clanton. She’ll be missed on the Finebaum show,” said one typical Facebook post.
