Two Willamette Street shops robbed
Eugene police are investigating two armed robberies in two days on Willamette Street in the College Hill area.
Late Sunday afternoon, Eugene police were called to the GNC store at 2866 Willamette St. At 3:49 p.m., an employee reported being robbed at knifepoint by a man who demanded money. The suspect left with cash and was last seen running northeast, police said.
He is described as 6-foot-1, 25 to 35 years old, slender with dark facial stubble, and wearing black sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt pulled tight around his face.
At 9:17 p.m. Monday, the Jimmy John’s restaurant at 2502 Willamette St. was robbed at knifepoint. The suspect stole cash and ran west, police said.
The suspect is described as 6-foot-3 to 6-foot-5 inches tall, with a thin build, a dark hooded sweatshirt with a hood pulled around the face, and a red T-shirt underneath.
