Mario Kart Cup video game tournament to benefit hospital

August 8, 2018 GMT

HUNTINGTON — Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation will present The Mario Kart Cup at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9 at Ohio Valley Bank in Barboursville. All ages are welcome. The cost to play is $5, which guarantees three games. Refreshments for participants will be provided from Huntington’s Donut Connection. All money raised at the event will be donated to the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital for future projects.

The contest will include different types of video game consoles to satisfy both new and old-school gamers, including GameCube and Wii. Game controllers will be provided.

The racers’ individual scores will be tallied up and the average will be taken. Whoever gets the highest average score will continue on to the next round. The last player who is left standing wins the tournament — and a trophy.

Anyone who wishes to pre-register is asked to do so by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8.
