Pocatello/Chubbuck School District selects Amy Bowie as principal of Irving Middle School
Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 (PCSD 25) is pleased to announce the selection of Amy Bowie as the new Principal of Irving Middle School. Ms. Bowie will replace Ms. Tonya Wilkes, who will assume a new role as Director of Student Support Services and Athletics at the district office on July 1, 2019.
Amy Bowie has been serving as the Assistant Principal at Irving Middle School for the past four years. During this time, she has embraced the school’s mission, which focuses on maximizing learner success in academic endeavors while honoring learners’ individual differences and cultivating their individual strengths and talents. Before joining the Irving team, she taught English at Highland High School for 18 years, relishing her roles as department chair, student leadership advisor, and basketball coach. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Language Arts and History in 1998 and her Master’s of Educational Administration in 2016, both from Idaho State University. She looks forward to working with inspired and passionate teachers at Irving Middle School as they continue to help develop assessment capable learners.
“One of Amy’s many strengths is her ability to communicate with people,” said PCSD 25 Superintendent, Dr. Douglas Howell. “She listens intently before offering a thoughtful response. This attribute will serve her well as she interacts with the learners, staff and parents of Irving Middle School.”
