Kit Check Presents Groundbreaking Drug Diversion Symposium Featuring Top Industry Leaders
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan 15, 2020--
Kit Check ™, the leader in automated and intelligent medication management solutions, today announced they will be hosting a first-of-its-kind continuing education online symposium, “Current Perspectives and Future Trends in Diversion Detection,” on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET. This program is designed specifically for pharmacists on the front line of the U.S. opioid epidemic and features industry-leading presenters with varied clinical backgrounds including anesthesiology, nursing and hospital pharmacy. The objective of the symposium is to explore strategies for diversion detection that mitigate risk within the hospital setting, with the help of the insights of these industry experts.
“Kit Check is proud to unite a top team of national, highly specialized presenters from states where the opioid crisis is rampant to teach pharmacists and other healthcare professionals how to approach, manage and thwart drug diversion,” said Kevin MacDonald, CEO of Kit Check. “This webinar will walk attendees through some of the best practices in diversion detection and prevention across a range of clinical areas. With medication intelligence, clinicians have access to more data than ever before, which in turn helps them to identify and prevent these often shrouded diversion events.”
Participation in the webinar, moderated by Kit Check’s Director of Clinical Solutions AJ Rivosecchi, Pharm.D., provides pharmacy continuing education credits and features four 1-hour sessions with time for questions. Presentations include:
“I’m honored to share my knowledge with pharmacists seeking a meaningful continuing education program, and to collaborate with my like-minded peers equally dedicated to fighting drug diversion and the opioid epidemic,” said Jeffery S. Vender, M.D. “It’s vital to discuss the under-reported anomalous provider behavior related to controlled substances, and together, we can take proactive steps in the fight against drug diversion in the hospital and the opioid crisis at large.”
In December, Kit Check announced a partnership with Omnicell to offer its Bluesight™ for Controlled Substances to additional hospitals and pharmacies in the U.S. Both Bluesight for Controlled Substances and Omnicell were also recognized by leading analyst firm KLAS Research as two best rated next-generation solutions in its report, “ Drug Diversion Monitoring 2019, An Early Look at Emerging vs. Established Technology.”
