Milton ‘Butch’ K. Meintz

WAUPUN -- Milton “Butch” K. Meintz, 89, of Waupun, passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown conducted by his son Lyle Peterson. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Concord. Milton Kenneth Meintz was born on March 15, 1929, to Richard and Seraphina (nee Laatzke) Meintz in the town of Concord. On Jan. 6, 1967, he married the former Lois Johnson at St. Stephen’s Church in Concord. Butch owned and operated a dairy farm the majority of his life. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and was an avid bowler.

Butch is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lois Meintz; children, James (Kristyna) Meintz of Westboro, Amy Meintz of Alpharetta, Georgia, Larry Peterson of Salem, Missouri, Linda (Daniel) Huebner of Waupun, Lloyd (Stephanie) Peterson of Schoolcraft, Michigan, Lyle (Joyce) Peterson of St. Charles, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ginny (Jim) Williams; sister-in-law, Virginia Meintz; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Seraphina; daughter, Cheryl Meintz; granddaughter, Rachel Peterson; brother, Clifford Meintz; sister, Grace Meintz.
