A Place for Mom, a senior care referral service, plans to hire more than 600 people in the next five years and build a new Overland Park office, the Seattle-based company announced Tuesday.

The company received about $12 million in state incentives, The Kansas City Star reported.

A Place for Mom, which connects families with nursing homes and other senior care facilities, will open a temporary office next week at the Overland Park Sprint campus. It plans to build a new office within the city.

The new employees will hold several jobs, including management, finance, human resources, information technology, local advisers, customer service and support staffers.

“We are committed to creating a world-class operation in the Kansas City area as we continue to transform our business to best serve our customers,” CEO Larry Kutscher said in a news release “Overland Park will be home to several key areas of our business that will have a direct impact on our company’s mission to empower families to make informed and confident senior housing decisions that best fit their unique needs”

The Kansas Department of Commerce awarded the firm economic development incentives through seven state programs, said spokesman Ryan Brinker.
