Reilly, the zoo’s honey badger, dies
The Fort Wayne Children’z Zoo announced Tuesday that Reilly, a male honey badger, died Monday night. Reilly was about 20 years old, which is considered old for his species, the zoo said.
He suffered from arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), which may have contributed to his death, though the ultimate cause is still unknown. He was a longtime favorite among staff and guests alike because of his personality, and he will be dearly missed, the zoo said.
“Thank you to Reilly’s wonderful animal care team who helped give him a long and healthy life, and to all of the guests who loved him as much as we did.”
