At THS Familia, Gulezian, Harrington and Thirkell

TYNGSBORO -- Tyngsboro High School has announced its December Students of the Month.

Shya Familia, daughter of Hector Familia and Rebekah Burke, is a member of the National Honor Society and has received the Academic Excellence Award and the Core Values Award. She is a member of the PALS program and has been involved in club gymnastics since 2010. She is a two-time floor state champion, and an all-around state champion.

Shya volunteers for Give Kids The World and other agencies. She plans to attend college.

Zachary Gulezian, son of Marc and Sandra Gulezian, is a member of the National Honor Society, is on the high-honor roll, and has received the Core Values Award and Principal’s Award. He is treasurer of the senior class, and is a member of the Theater Department and the International Thespian Society.

Zack competes for the cross-country team and is a member of the Ski Club. He plans to become an electrical engineer and professional organist.

Annabelle Harrington, daughter of James and Debra Harrington, is a member of the National Honor Society and has received the Academic Excellence Award and Principal’s Award. She is a member of the Yearbook Club and PALS.

Annabelle competes for the lacrosse team, is a Midland-Wachusett League All-Star and was recognized as the Most Improved Player. She volunteers for youth lacrosse. She plans to attend St. Anselm College on a lacrosse scholarship.

Brenna Thirkell, daughter of Timothy and Sandra Thirkell, is secretary of the National Honor Society, and has received the Principal’s Award, Academic Excellence Award, Commitment to Learning Award and Outstanding Achievement in Physical Education Award. She was captain of the soccer team this past fall and plays softball. She has received the Coaches’ Award in both sports and was named a Mid-Wach All-Star in softball.

Brenna volunteers at her church’s bible camp and youth softball. She is a talented musician who placed third as a sophomore in the Tyngsboro’s Got Talent contest. She plans to study Communications with a concentration in Music Business in college.
