UCLA Suspends 2 Football Players
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Backup linebackers Santi Hall and Asi Faoa have been suspended for UCLA’s opener against No. 3 Alabama for violating team rules, Bruins coach Bob Toledo said Friday.
Faoa, a freshman, has pleaded innocent to mayhem and assault charges in connection with an incident at an off-campus fraternity party last spring. A preliminary hearing is scheduled on the matter was postponed last Monday until Sept. 18.
Toledo wouldn’t elaborate on Hall’s violation, and said both players will practice with the Bruins starting Saturday when the team begins preparations for the Alabama game Sept. 2 at the Rose Bowl.
