Miss Mt. Pleasant scholarship pageant set May 18
MT. PLEASANT — Five beautiful and talented young ladies will compete for the 2019 Miss Mt. Pleasant title. The pageant will be held Saturday, May 18, at 7 p.m., in the North Sanpete High School Auditorium, 390 East 700 South, Mt. Pleasant. Tickets are available at the door.
“We have a great group of girls this year for the 2019 Miss Mt Pleasant Scholarship Pageant,” says Pageant Director Jerry Kelso. “It takes a lot of time and effort to prepare for a pageant, and we feel these five young ladies have worked hard to be prepared. This year’s winner will replace current Miss Mt. Pleasant Ally Brotherson.”
Each of the five contestants will be judged in four areas of competition, private interview, lifestyle and fitness, talent and evening wear/on-stage question.
The five 2019 contestants are:
Lissette is the daughter of Marilu Zamudio. She will do a video presentation of herself performing cheerleading stunts. Her platform is “Encouraging Young Women to develop Self-Confidence.”
Eneli is the daughter of Osbaldo and Sandra Silva. She will recite a French poem entitled “Le Corbeau et Le Renard” By Jean de la Fontaine. Her platform is “Beyond Type One.”
Kylena is the daughter of Vern and Michelle Akauola. She will perform a Jazz dance routine “Hallelujah, I Love Her.” Her platform is “Art Heals”: The Importance of Art.
Mashaylie is the daughter of Preston Burnside and Natalie Burnside. She will perform a Hip Hop dance to “MIC Drop.” Her platform is “Age affects the body not the soul.”
Isabelle is the daughter of Mark and Wendy Hightower. She will do a video presentation of her accomplishments in track and field. Her platform is “Helping children and families that have extended stays at Primary Children’s Hospital, local hospitals, and shelters.”
