SWIMMING: BB’s Schroeder advances to state

Bradley-Bourbonnais might have finished in fifth place, but Megan Schroeder was the real winner for the Boliers.
In Saturday’s IHSA Sectional meet at Lincoln-Way East, the senior finished with a time of 1:05.37 in the 100 breaststroke, which set a new school record, won the sectional and punched her ticket to the state championship.
Although she didn’t qualify for state in the 100 butterfly with a fifth-place finish, her time of 1:00.88 did set a new school record, one she already held.
Elizabeth Noble took home a fourth-place medal in diving with a score of 369, and the 400 relay team of Schroeder, Colleen Bassett, Sydney Kane and lani Develder claimed fifth place with a time of 4:02.52.
Kankakee finished in seventh place with 80 total points.
