Mistake leads to inmate’s release

April 17, 2019 GMT

Police are looking for a 26-year-old inmate mistakenly released from Huntington County Jail on Tuesday after a paperwork error.

Alante Darrell Nance of Indianapolis is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 245 pounds. He has a hearing scheduled for Monday in Huntington Superior Court on misdemeanor charges of carrying a handgun without a license, driving with a suspended license and marijuana possession, according to court documents.

Because of the clerical mistake, Nance was freed Tuesday, but “local, state and federal marshals are looking for this individual,” said Capt. Jeff Kyle, Huntington jail commander.

Anyone with information is asked to call 260-356-8316.
