Neighbors remove DeKalb man from their apartment; he returns, cuts through window screens with sword
DEKALB — A 48-year-old DeKalb man is facing criminal trespassing charges after he cut through multiple window screens using a sword to break into his neighbor’s apartment early Saturday morning.
DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a possible home invasion just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Twombly Road in DeKalb, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Joseph R. Kremsreiter, 48, of the 1400 block of Twombly Road, DeKalb, allegedly entered a neighbor’s apartment twice without invitation. After he was removed the second time, Kremsreiter returned with a sword, which he used to cut through two window screens. Kremsreiter also cut one individual on both hands while he was breaking into the apartment. That individual was transported to an area hospital.
Kremsreiter was arrested for aggravated battery, criminal trespassing and criminal damage to property. He is currently being held in DeKalb County jail awaiting a bond a hearing.
