Drunk driver peeled away from officer: cops

April 26, 2018 GMT

GREENWICH — An allegedly drunk driver tried to make a getaway from a police officer after being pulled over, according to her arrest report.

Daisy Nonato Ramos, 29, of Wampus Lane, Riverside, racked up a number of criminal charges and citations Monday around 8 p.m.

Police said she was observed driving the wrong way on Nassau Place in Cos Cob. She pulled over when an officer approached her — but not for long.

“During the traffic stop, Ramos started her vehicle and left the scene in what appeared to be an attempt to get away from the officer,” according to the arrest report.

The officer hustled back to his car and followed Ramos’ Honda CRV to the Cos Cob School, where the driver apparently changed her mind about running away from a police officer.

Police said an open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle, as well as a small amount of marijuana.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated, disobeying a police officer’s signal, drinking while driving and operating without a valid license. She was also cited for driving down a one-way street in the wrong direction and possession of marijuana.

Ramos was released on $500 bail and ordered to appear in court May 7.
