Man killed in plane crash near Aberdeen Airport
A 42-year-old Aberdeen man died in a plane crash near the Aberdeen Airport Monday morning, police said.
According to a press release sent by the Bingham Couty Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Angus was killed after the plane he was flying crashed near the Aberdeen Airport. Cameras at the airport show that the plane crashed at around 8 a.m.
Authorities did not divulge what type of plane Angus was flying, or if the plane was taking off or landing. Angus was the only person involved in the crash.
Angus’ next of kin has been notified of the crash and his passing, according to the press release.
Bingham County Dispatch was notified of the crash at about 9:15 a.m. and officers from the Aberdeen Police Department and Bingham County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene, the press release said.
The area near the airport has been closed to all traffic, and the crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
