Setup began Monday at Bicentennial Park ahead of this weekend’s Ribberfest BBQ and Blues Festival. Adrian Wilburn uses a stake driver to bury tent poles deep into the ground. Workers from Negangard Tent and Party Rental, in Osgood, set up more than a dozen tents in the park and across Vaughn Drive near the gazebo. Organizers said that plans are to have everything ready to go by Thursday evening, just to be safe. The Ribberfest gates open at 5 p.m. Friday. Advance wristbands are still available for $30 for the two-day festival. Wristbands may be purchased online through Aug. 16, as well as at German American and MainSource bank branches, Kroger and CVS Pharmacy in Madison. Tickets may be purchased through Aug. 17 at the Madison Visitors’ Center on East First Street. No wristbands will be sold Aug. 18 until gates open at 5 p.m. Tickets at the gates are $35. Music begins at 6 p.m. Friday with Jason Ricci and The Bad Kind, ahead of the night’s headliner at 10 p.m., Delbert McClinton. Saturday, Los Lobos returns for the headlining slot at 9:30 p.m. For more, visit www.madisonribberfest.com.
