Briton, 19, killed in all-British brawl on Crete
ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greek police say they have arrested 18 British nationals suspected of involvement in a brawl at a rowdy Cretan resort in which a British youth was stabbed to death.
One detainee, a 19-year-old man, is suspected of delivering the fatal blow, a police statement said.
The victim, also 19, died on the way to a hospital. Police did not identify him or the suspects.
The pre-dawn brawl Tuesday at Mallia on northern Crete involved about 30 British nationals, the police statement said.
The seaside resort is a favorite destination for low-budget tourists, particularly young Britons who have become notorious for drunken excesses.
