2 injured in separate shootings
A 29-year-old man was in serious condition at a hospital after a shooting early Friday, according to Fort Wayne police.
It was one of at least two shootings in the city.
Officers said they found the victim on South Hanna Street, just north of East Wayne Street, about 4:15 a.m.
Officers were in the area responding to a report of a fight.
Two female witnesses were with the man who was on the ground, pants off, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his inner left thigh, police said.
The witnesses said they didn’t know the victim and came to his aid after hearing shots fired.
An investigation is ongoing, police said.
About 2:30 p.m. Friday, another shooting took place at South Anthony Boulevard and Milan Street.
The unidentified man was found shot in the leg and transported to a hospital in serious condition, according to John Chambers, Fort Wayne Police Department public information officer.
There are no suspects and no arrests have been made, Chambers said.
