Needy Florida girl gives back to cop who buys her toys
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A 10-year-old Florida girl who was chosen to go Christmas shopping with a local police officer decided to use her money to buy him a gift.
Londin Myers was chosen to participate in Orlando police’s yearly Shop with a Cop event that allows needy children to buy gifts for themselves and their families.
School Resource Officer Joey Lascellas took the little girl shopping this week. And WESH TV reports she added his name to her shopping list.
She bought two teddy bears and some candy canes, which she presented to the officer along with a hug and a picture of me “so he’ll always remember me.”
“It’s because he’s so nice to me, and that just makes me care because that’s so nice,” Londin said. “He didn’t have to pick me, but he did.”
