Meet the Candy Bomber
Gail Halvorsen is 97 (and a half) years old, but that isn’t stopping him from completing yet another of his famed candy drops, this time at the Spanish Fork Airport at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Halvorsen is well-known for his compassion and generosity during World War II, dropping candy from airplanes to war-torn Berlin and bringing excitement and joy to the children of Germany.
His flight on Saturday, which is set for 10 a.m. with pre-show entertainment starting at 9:15 a.m., is in support of the airport’s goal to construct the Gail S. Halvorsen Aviation Education Center, and, if Halvorsen is feeling well enough, he’ll be available for meet-and-greets following the drop. Get details on the event as well as location at this link.
