Family AfFair to return for 27th year
SCOTTVILLE — It’s time for the 27th Annual Family AfFair.
Every year, hundreds of people from area businesses and community agencies get together to provide a whole day of fun for local families. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17 at Mason County Central High School, 300 W. Broadway St., Scottville, and is completely free to attend.
More than 60 groups and organizations each year bring intriguing and entertaining hands-on activities. Participants will leave with bags of special items and information about resources that might otherwise never have been discovered.
Some booths even provide snacks, but there are concessions available for purchase at family-friendly prices in the cafeteria area.
The 2018 Family AfFAIR theme is, “Family: the gold at the end of the rainbow.”
Photo booths, arts and crafts activities, face-painting, and balloon art will be available, and the smell for the cotton candy and popcorn will be in the air as you tour the entire building. Some activities will take place in classrooms while others will be held in the gym area.
The gym will also host two jump-houses. Judges will be present, incognito, deciding on who will get the award for the Most Interactive Booth this year. Last year’s award went to Mason County Sheriff’s Department.
Visitors are asked to use the front entrance of the school, as each family will leave with free entrance goodies. Sign up for a door prize from one of our many community businesses in the surrounding areas of Manistee, Lake, Oceana and Mason counties.
You’ll find something for everyone at the 27th Annual Family AfFair.
Everyone is welcome, with or without children, although children must be accompanied by an adult.
