Town Hall meeting planned for Humble to discuss widening of FM 1960
A town hall meeting to talk about property rights as the state prepares to widen FM 1960 is set for Thursday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Phillip Cezeaux Recreation Building, 100 North Houston Ave, in Humble.
The town hall meeting will discuss plans to widen and improve FM 1960.
The Freeman Law Firm organized the meeting in cooperation with businesses and property owners who will be impacted by a Texas Department of Transportation project to widen the road.
TxDOT officials said the expansion will alleviate the congestion on the roadway projected to see an additional 24,500 cars per day by 2040.
The improvements will turn the roadway from a four-lane to a six-lane road divided roadway with a curb and gutter.
Entrances to businesses will close, resulting in more traffic, which will impact the entire community.
The forum will present an opportunity to educate and inform the community about their property rights, compensation and how to best prepare for the condemnation process, states a news release from the lawfirm.
Ernest Freeman and Joe Quintal are attorneys who will meet with businesses and property owners impacted by the widening of the road along with certified appraisers.
Intermittent lane closures might be a possibility once the project commences.
To learn more about the project, individual property rights, those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by Sept. 26 to 713-893-5662.
