Leominster Man Facing Charges of Child Rape
LEOMINSTER -- A 36-year-old man allegedly raped a child at the beginning of the month, court records say.
Emanuel Correia, of 26 Fifth St., is charged with 11 counts for the alleged incident that happened on March 1.
A judge approved the prosecution’s request Wednesday to impound and withhold information about the alleged rape and the underage victim from public records to protect their privacy and safety.
Correia faces two counts of statutory rape of a child, six charges of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, assault with a dangerous weapon, giving obscene matter to a minor, and intimidation of a witness, juror, police or court official.
A judge set Correia’s bail at $5,000 cash or $50,000 surety at his Wednesday arraignment.
He was also ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim and to stay away from them, a residence, and Leominster High School, according to court documents.
Correia’s next court date is a pre-trial hearing on April 24.
