What We Are Working on 10/25/2017 (VIDEO)

October 25, 2017 GMT

It’s Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017. Here is some of what Sun staffers and

other news providers are working on for lowellsun.com and Thursday’s

print edition.

After passing unanimously in the state Senate, Sen. Eileen

Donoghue’s bill written to end abuse of handicapped parking placards

is taken up by the House. Boston University intern J.D. Capelouto is

covering this issue for The Sun.

Reporter Rick Sobey, rsobey@lowellsun.com, has a story about Rep.

Seth Moulton launching a PAC to help young, aspiring politicians who

are veterans, like himself, elected to Congress.

Reporter Amaris Castillo, acastillo@lowellsun.com, has a nice read

about a former Dracut woman who is on the road, literally, touring the

country with her boyfriend and making a living while doing it.

Reporter Chris Lisinski, clisinski@lowellsun, will have a story out

of the Pawtucketville neighborhood in Lowell, where the Market Basket

grocery story chain is apparently considering building a new

supermarket.

Reporter Aaron Curtis, acurtis@lowellsun.com, is at the Billerica

Board of Selectmen which will set a date for a special election. A

selectman, George Simolaris, collected enough signatures to force the

trigger the election to consider overturning a recently approved Town

Meeting article he argues will hurt youth sports organizations.
