Littleton, King Open with Tie; Bishop Guertin Field Hockey Team Romps by Manchester Team

GROTON -- Led by co-medalist Kyle King, the Littleton High golf team opened the 2018 season by tying Oakmont Regional’s, 27-27, on Thursday afternoon.

King fired a two-over par 37 at Groton Country Club, a score matched by Oakmont’s Jake Berkio.

Alex Forziati shot a 40 for Littleton.

NASHUA, N.H. -- The Bishop Guertin field hockey opened its 2018 season with a 4-0 home victory over Manchester Memorial on Thursday night.

BG scored early on a corner as Kennedy collected a rebound from Sarah Coyle’s direct shot to make it 1-0 Cardinals just six minutes into the game.

On a corner, Emily Lisi hammered a rebound home off a Lindsay Hult shot. BG led 2-0 at the half.

Emily Foltan would take a pass from Coyle and put a direct shot on net to make it 3-0. Hult would add an unassisted goal with just under six minutes remaining.

Caroline Carey, Athansia Theofilpoulos and Liv Hlebichuk helped goalkeeper Monina Tosi (4 saves) maintain the lead.
