Griffin Pond Animal Shelter Executive Director Announces Plans To Resign
SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — After just two months on the job, the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter executive director plans to step down.
Vanly Pierson began in April at the shelter. Her last day is June 13.
“It was a trial run for me and my family and it just wasn’t the right fit,” she said Friday.
Pierson, 29, lives in Lehigh County and was previously the shelter director for the Bucks County SPCA.
Her resignation is the latest in a string of staffing and board changes since August, when former executive director Ed Florentino was suspended and later resigned amid concerns about the shelter’s euthanasia policy. Board president Doug Boyle resigned in May.
