President Names Chapoton To Treasury Post
WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Reagan plans to nominate O. Donaldson Chapoton to be an assistant secretary of the Treasury for tax policy, the White House announced Friday.
Chapoton will succeed J. Roger Mentz.
Since 1986, he has served as deputy assistant secreatry for tax policy at the Treasury Department, and before that he was a senior partner in Baker & Botts, from 1963-1986.
Chapoton graduated from the University of Texas and the University of Texas School of Law. He is a native of Galveston, Texas, and was born on May 18, 1936.
