PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The U.S. Marshal's service says it has arrested one of its 15 most wanted fugitives in Portland, Maine.

The service says Clyde Hall Jr., a convicted sex offender, has been on the run since March 2012 when he was released from the Butner Federal Correctional Institution in North Carolina after serving 25 months. Authorities say he failed to meet with a probation officer and report to a halfway house in Albany, N.Y., as a condition of his release.

He was featured on the "America's Most Wanted" television show in June 2012. The marshal's service says the state of New York labeled him a Tier III sex offender, its most dangerous sex offender classification.

Hall was arrested by deputy U.S. marshals Thursday and was awaiting extradition to New York.
