LAWYERS: VIDEO DOES NOT SHOW KEVIN SPACEY ASSAUTING 18-YEAR-OLD
BOSTON (AP) — Kevin Spacey’s lawyers argue a video that an 18-year-old took allegedly showing Spacey touching the front of his pants only shows someone’s hand touching another person’s shirt. The Boston Globe obtained an audio recording of the show-cause hearing from last week. Spacey attorney Alan Jackson said in the hearing the 18-year-old did not report allegations to police right away, said he was 23 and said he was so intoxicated he may have blacked out shortly after Spacey allegedly groped him. The now 20-year-old man says the incident happened in 2016 at a Nantucket restaurant. His mother, former Boston news anchor Heather Unruh (UN’-roo), has said her son didn’t go to authorities out of embarrassment and fear. Spacey is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 7 on a charge of indecent assault and battery.
