Amphenol: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
WALLINGFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Amphenol Corp. (APH) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $288.4 million.
The Wallingford, Connecticut-based company said it had net income of 93 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains, came to 92 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 93 cents per share.
The maker of fiber-optic products posted revenue of $2.02 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.01 billion.
For the current quarter ending in October, Amphenol expects its per-share earnings to range from 86 cents to 88 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $1.96 billion to $2 billion for the fiscal third quarter.
Amphenol expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.56 to $3.60 per share, with revenue ranging from $7.92 billion to $8 billion.
Amphenol shares have increased 21% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has risen 20%. The stock has risen 12% in the last 12 months.
