HUDDERSFIELD, England (AP) — Rajiv van La Parra scored to give Huddersfield a 1-0 win over struggling West Bromwich Albion on Saturday in the Premier League.

Van La Parra’s swerving, 30-yard effort in the 44th minute put the home side in control before Christopher Schindler was sent off in the second half. Van La Parra received the ball on the left before sending an unstoppable strike past Ben Foster and in off the crossbar.

Despite playing with 10 men from the 57th minute, Huddersfield held on to secure all three points and move into the top half of the standings with 14 points from 11 games. West Brom has failed to win in its last nine league games.

Schindler was first given a yellow card for pulling back Hal Robson-Kanu in the first half. He was sent off when he mistimed a challenge on Ahmed Hegazi in the 57th.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis reacted to the red card by putting on three attackers from the bench, but Huddersfield held on for the victory.
