Trimble track & field shut out
Trimble County’s track and field teams competed in the large Clash of the Classes meet at Walton-Verona on Saturday. The Raiders failed to score a point in either the boys or girls meets and had only one top-10 finish. Ryker Mathews placed 10th in the boys shot put at 36 feet, 10.25 inches. Other top finishes for the Trimble boys were: Cody Johnson, 18th, triple jump, 27-1.25; 400 Relay Team, 18th, 51.46; Dominic Johnson, 26th, 300 hurdles, 53.17; Paris Steffen, 26th, discus, 86-3 and 28th, shot put, 31-6.75; Alex Nichols, 29th, 200 dash, 26.20; and Quentin Huff, 29th, 3200 run, 11:53.37. Top finishes for the Trimble girls were: Destiny Louden, 11th, 200 dash, 30.44 and 23rd, 400 dash, 1:11.95; Kayla Jones, 14th, discus, 66-2 and 18th, shot put, 21-11; Daniella Tebib, 21st, 300 hurdles, 59.66, 25th, 100 hurdles, 21.21 and 27th, long jump, 10-3.75; Eliza Weston, 23rd, 1600 run, 6:19.16; Kaci Huff, 23rd, discus, 61-9; and Madison Jones, 24th, long jump, 11-3 and 28th, 100 hurdles, 22.15. St. Xavier scored 100 points and ran away with the boys team title while Ryle scored 107 to edge Campbell County by 14 points and win the girls crown. Trimble’s next meet isn’t until April 11 when it competes at Oldham County.
