January 25, 2019

WILKES-BARRE — Restaurant Depot, a wholesale food service supplier, is set to open its latest store Wednesday at 650 Scott St., Wilkes-Barre. The wholesaler has built a new 58,000-square-foot facility on what was an empty lot. Branch manager Amy Vallely said the location has created 38 jobs and “we are ready to help local businesses see how much they can save when they shop with us.” “We are so excited to join the community here in Wilkes-Barre,” Vallely said. In a news release, Restaurant Depot announced it will bring its “unique recipe of community involvement” to Wilkes-Barre. Restaurant Depot plans to help local restaurant and bar owners who struggle with food and supply costs. In addition to food and beverages, the store will include a selection of restaurant equipment and supplies including a full line of packaging solutions. The new Wilkes-Barre store features one-stop shopping to simplify the process of buying food, equipment and supplies. It serves people who are buying a few bakery supplies or enough food and tableware to cater a party for 5,000, according to the press release. At Restaurant Depot, members have the option to purchase many items by the piece or by the case, saving on the unit costs accordingly. Since Restaurant Depot is a “cash and carry,” there are no minimum order requirements, no delivery fees and the price people see on the shelf tag is the price they pay. Restaurant Depot is open seven days a week and is wholesale only. Membership is free and open to all businesses and non-profit organizations. For more information, go to www.restaurantdepot.com.
