Come Along, Strum Along at Lunenburg Public Library
LUNENBURG -- Beginning Saturday, March 9, from 1 to 3 p.m., and continuing at the same times on the following two Saturdays, Lunenburg Public Library will host musician David Sibel to teach beginner guitar classes.
Whether you’re just starting, revisiting the guitar or trying to get over the first few hurdles, Sibel’s class can help you move forward. In a low-key and welcoming group environment, he will introduce, demystify and open up a world of music via the acoustic guitar. Each class will move progressively through basic understanding and simple, easy playing of the acoustic guitar.
Sibel has been playing acoustic guitar and singing for 10 years in many styles, including folk, country, bluegrass and pop/rock. His love of music goes back much further -- to his grandfather’s world of “hi-fi” his dad’s omnipresent transistor radio, DJ-ing on college radio, and working in the music business.
In 2009, he finally had a breakthrough when friends would gather in houses and make music. With the help and encouragement of generous musicians, he picked up a guitar and jumped in. Recently, he has been leading bluegrass and Americana jams in Acton and various small venues, as well as teaching ukulele. In his spare time, he cooks, dances and gardens -- sometimes at the same time.
Bring your guitar and your enthusiasm.
All ages are welcome. For more information, or to register for all three classes, call 978-582-4140.
