Steve Earle headlines Zoofari on Aug. 18

Steve Earle & the Dukes, performing with the Matersons, will headline Zoofari this year at ZooMontana on Friday, Aug. 18

The show is for those 21 and over. Tickets are $63 in advance or $70 the day of the show. The show will be held rain or shine. Gates open at 5 and the show starts at 6 p.m.

Zoofari also features local brews and culinary creations from area restaurants. Zoofari is sponsored by the Montana Chapter of the Safari Club International, the Montana Beef Council. It is an official qualifying event for the World Food Championship. Proceeds benefit ZooMontana.

Earle has turned many musical corners during his illustrious career. He has been equally acclaimed as a folk troubadour, a rockabilly raver, a contemplative bluesman, a honky-tonk rounder, a snarling rocker and even a bluegrass practitioner.

Earle has won three Grammy Awards, for 2005’s T”he Revolution Starts Now,” 2008’s “Washington Square Serenade ” and 2010’s “Townes.”

His new album, “So You Wanna Be An Outlaw” is due out on June 16.

He is also the author of the 2011 short-story collection “Doghouse Roses” and novel “I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive.”
