TOWSON, Md. (AP) — A 19-year-old Towson University student has died after collapsing while playing basketball on campus, Towson officials confirmed Saturday.

Towson University police responded to the recreation center Friday evening where sophomore Oluwadamilare “Michael” Oyinloye had been playing basketball when he collapsed on the court, the university’s Department of Communications stated Saturday. First responders attempted CPR, but Oyinloye was later pronounced dead at a hospital, the university announced.

Authorities didn’t comment on his cause of death.

A moment of silence was held by a Towson brotherhood organization for the student on Sunday, WJZ-TV reported. Oyinloye was from Odenton and was studying information systems at the university, The Baltimore Sun reported. He was involved in the school’s African Diaspora Club, news outlets said.
