Twenty Electrocuded on India Bus
NEW DELHI, India (AP) _ A bus crowded with Muslim pilgrims hit overhead electricity wires in northern India on Monday, killing at least 20 people, Press Trust of India news agency said.
The dead included eight children. The accident occurred when a bicycle fastened to the top of the bus hit the wires in Chandausi, a town in Uttar Pradesh state, 125 miles southeast of New Delhi, PTI said.
The bus was carrying 70 pilgrims traveling from New Delhi to Sitamarhi in Bihar state for a religious function. Three suffered burn injuries, PTI said.
