December 3, 2019

SWANTON, Vt. (AP) — Police in Vermont have arrested a second suspect in an alleged home invasion in Swanton.

Mychamplainvalley.com reports that the 16-year-old male was taken into custody Monday afternoon. He and a 15-year-old boy are accused of breaking into a home and attacking a woman and her grandson.

U.S. Border Patrol agents captured the 15-year-old shortly after the alleged home invasion early Monday morning.

Police say the teens attacked a sleeping boy and then attacked the boy’s grandmother after she tried to intervene.

The two suspects then ransacked the apartment.

Police say they believe the victims were specifically targeted so there is no threat to the public.
