Heat’s Hardaway Sits Out Practice
MIAMI (AP) _ Tim Hardaway, nursing a sore left foot and right ankle, was on crutches as a precaution on Monday, but said he felt better one day after leaving a game in the first quarter with his latest injury.
The Miami Heat point guard isn’t expected to play in the final two regular-season games, which are meaningless for the Heat because they’ve already clinched the No. 2 playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Heat said Hardaway’s status is day to day, which means his availability for the playoffs beginning this weekend is uncertain.
Hardaway sprained his right ankle and left foot Sunday against the Orlando Magic. He is also bothered by swelling in his left foot, a problem that can last for weeks.
Hardaway will be replaced by rookie Anthony Carter, the only other point guard on the roster.
