Youth basketball players ready for Week 2’s assignments at three sites

All the city’s youth basketball teams got their feet wet with last Saturday’s season openers.

With the butterflies gone and the names of their teammates memorized, the pint-size players head full throttle into the five-week regular season this weekend.

At PAL Gym, the 7 and 8-year-olds take the floor again. At 9 a.m., the Houston Hardwoods oppose the H-Town Heat. At 10, the MonStars oppose the Rockets, while the morning concludes with the H-town Heat returning to the floor to meet the South Houston Warriors.

The lone girls game has the Krush opposing the Wildcats at 4.

Bondy Intermediate School will be the site of the 9 and 10-year-old as well as the 11 and 12-year-old girls division. The 9 a.m. contest pits the Lady Finesse opposite the Dynamite. At 10, the And 1 meets the Comets. The morning’s action concludes with the Lady Finesse colliding against the Blue Angels.

The noon tipoff has the Junior Sugar Ladies meeting the Lady Bulls, while the 1 p.m. game features the Lady Tigers meeting the Lady Rockets. The day’s action concludes with the Sugar Ladies opposing the Lady Comets at 2.

For the 9 and 10-year-old boys, they’ll be walking through the doors of Jackson Intermediate School again.

The Savages will warm up the floor when they oppose the Bulldogs at 9 a.m. At 10, the Thunder takes on the Ballers and the 11 a.m. contest has the Hoop-As-One facing the WATR.

The noon game pits the Raptors against Team Imperial, followed by H-town Heat meeting the Flames. Closing out the day’s action will be the Bobcats meeting the Run-As-One in a 2 p.m. tipoff and the Gladiators opposing the Select One Rockets at 3.

The 11 and 12-year-old boys will compete in Jackson Intermediate’s Gym 2 and it starts with North Shore opposing the Knicks at 9, followed by the Space Jam Elite taking on the Wolfpack at 10.

The Los Traviesos and the Clutch City finish the morning games with an 11 a.m. tipoff.

At noon, the South Belt Alliance meets the Rockets, followed by the Wolf Pack taking on the Trap. Closing out the day will be the Celtics and Wolves in a 2 p.m. tipoff.
