CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the deaths of two people found in a northeastern Pennsylvania home last week as an apparent murder-suicide.

State police in Lackawanna County say the bodies were found Thursday in a Ransom Township home.

Police say they believe 68-year-old Robert Bowen III of Clarks Summit shot and killed 58-year-old Barbara Naumann of Dunmore before turning the gun on himself.

Troopers aren’t commenting on the relationship between the two but said they believe they knew each other. They say the deaths occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Wednesday and noon Thursday.

Coroner Tim Rowland says autopsies confirmed that the two died from gunshot wounds.
